With a Zego Sense policy, the Sense app is designed to build a picture of your overall driving style. So whether you are driving for your job, or driving as part of your day-to-day routine, we need the Sense app to be installed with all of the permissions enabled at all times. Use this helpful guide if you need help enabling your permissions.

However, as the Sense app uses your smartphone’s background app refresh feature, you can keep your other apps open instead (like the Uber app or Uber Eats app).

Without the Zego Sense app installed with permissions enabled at all times, we will not be able to assess your driving. Plus, you may not reach the required number of trips or mileage to get a driver score, which will have an impact on the price of your renewal.

Additionally, for some of our Sense policies, its a requirement to maintain a minimum driver score. If you haven't driven enough to build a driver score, your policy may be cancelled.

But remember, the better the driver score, the bigger the discount we apply to your renewal price!

Yes - you need to keep your permissions enabled at all times, no matter where you are driving.

However, all trips from outside of the UK are not used to calculate your driver score.
