Before you start
We'd suggest that you have the following to hand as you may need it when running through your quote:
Your driving licence
Your V5C registration certificate (if you don't know when you purchased your vehicle)
Details of any claims you've made in the last 3 years (fault or non-fault), including the date of the claim and the value of the claim (the amount you had to claim for).
The date you moved to the UK (if applicable)
If you have a non-UK driving licence, details of any motoring convictions from the last 5 years, including the conviction code (for example, SP30) and the date of the conviction.
Starting your quote
1. First, you'll need to start with getting a quote from our website. You can either click 'Get a quote' in the top right corner of any of our webpages followed by selecting 'Van insurance for courier use', or click here to get started.
2. Next you'll see a list of criteria you'll need to meet to be eligible for our cover. If you meet the criteria on screen, tap 'I agree'. Please note, other criteria also apply.
Entering your details
3. Select the delivery work provider that you work with from the list shown on screen. If you don't work with any of the listed providers, unfortunately we won't be able to offer you cover.
To continue, you'll need to check the box to confirm you are aware that we will share information with your work provider and tap 'I agree'.
4. Enter your vehicle registration number on the next screen and click 'Find Vehicle'. We'll find your vehicle details and display them for you to check. If they are correct, tap 'Continue'.
If the registration number isn't quite right or the wrong vehicle is shown, tap 'Change Vehicle' and retype the correct registration number.
Please note, the registration number must be registered against the vehicle with the DVLA.
5. Continue to add your vehicle details, including when the vehicle was purchased. We'll need to know the month and year. We'll also need your estimated annual mileage, for both work and personal use.
6. Next, we'll need your personal details and driving licence information.
If you have a UK licence, you'll need to enter your driving licence number. You'll find this in the front of your driving licence and it will look something like this, 'SMITH806704SI9NE'. We'll add the first part of it for you.
If you have an EU licence, you'll also need to upload an image of your driving licence. It's important that all four corners of the driving licence are in the image and the writing on your licence is clearly readable.
At the bottom of this page, you can select if you'd like to receive news about Zego products and services. If you'd like to review our Privacy Notice, just tap the link on screen.
You'll also need to confirm that the details you've entered are correct and that you agree for Zego to run claims and driving record checks. This is required to continue with your quote. If you'd like to read our Fair Obtaining Notice, again tap the link on screen.
7. Applicable if you have a non-UK driving licence

One the next screen, we'll ask if you've had any driving related convictions or bans in the last 5 years. If you have, you'll need to add each conviction.
When adding them, you'll need to add the date of the conviction, the DVLA conviction code (or the DVLA equivalent if it was from outside of the UK), if you recieved a driving ban, and if you did, the length of the driving ban.
Tap 'Add another conviction' if you need to add another. Once you're ready, tap 'Continue'.
8. We'll need to know if you've made any claims next. You should tap 'Yes' if you've made any fault claims, or if you've made any non-fault claims in the last 3 years.
If you have made any claims, you'll need to add the details of them. Whilst the value of the claim can be approximate, but it's best to try and make this as accurate as possible.
If you need to add more than one claim, tap 'Add another claim' and repeat the process.
9. After adding your claims information, you'll need to add the details of where you keep your vehicle. If you don't keep your vehicle at your home address, we'll need the address of where it is kept.
You'll also need to confirm how long you've lived in the UK. If you haven't lived in the UK since birth, you'll need to enter the month and year you moved to the UK.
10. On the next screen, you'll need to let us know how many years of no claims discount (NCD) you have. If you have 1 year or more, you'll need to send us proof of your NCD in the first 14 days of your policy. For more information about how to send us your NCD, you can use this guide.
11. Finally, enter the date you'd like your cover to start and tap 'Continue'. Here we'll provide you with a brief summary. If you want to change the date you'd like your cover to start, tap 'Edit'. When you're ready, tap 'Continue'.
Checking your eligibility
After we've provided you with your summary, we'll check to see if you are eligible for a quote. If you are not eligible for cover, we'll let you know here.
If we are unable to offer you cover, unfortunately we won't be able to change this decision. However, if your circumstances change in the future, we’d be happy to reassess - just try getting a quote with us again!
Choosing your policy
12. If you are eligible, you'll be provided with your options for cover, including the price. Any quoted prices include a policy fee (detailed here in our fees and charged).
You'll be able to select between Third Party Only and Fully Comprehensive cover. You'll also see a summary of what's provided with your insurance.
Select your preferred option and tap 'Continue'.
13. If you have 3 or more years of no claims discount, you'll be given the option of adding NCD protection to your policy. Tap 'Add' next to either that you'd like to add to your policy. You can remove them again by tapping 'Remove'.
14. On the next screen, you'll see 4 expandable sections: Policy Summary, Cancellation & Renewals Policy, Demands and Needs and Terms of Business. These contain all of the important points related to your policy.
IMPORTANT: You must expand each section and read all of the points carefully.
Once you've read them, you'll need to confirm that you understand the requirements of the policy to continue to the payment options.
Paying for your policy
15. You'll be given 2 options for payment: a single upfront payment or monthly instalments. Choose the option you prefer and click 'Continue'.
If you have a discount or promo code, you'll be able to add it here. The payment amount will be adjusted after a valid code has been applied.
If you choose to pay in a single payment
Enter the card details from your credit or debit card and check the box on screen. After tapping 'Pay now', you'll see a confirmation screen to confirm that the payment has been taken.
If you choose to pay in monthly instalments
We'll give you a full breakdown of the payments, including when they are due and the interest charged.
You'll need to pay a deposit and the policy fee upfront, followed by 11 monthly payments. For the monthly payments, you'll be entering into a credit agreement with Premium Credit Limited (PCL).
First, enter the card details from your credit or debit card for the upfront payment. Read the important notices about PCL and check the box on screen. After tapping 'Pay now', you'll need to enter your bank details to set up a Direct Debit.
Finally, you'll be provided with a finance summary and after tapping 'Submit', you'll see a confirmation screen to confirm that the payment has been taken.
Downloading the Sense app
16. You're policy is now in place and your cover will begin on your chosen start date. The last thing you'll need to do is download the Zego Sense app.
