What is Veriff?
Veriff is a secure, AI-powered identity verification platform that helps Zego confirm the authenticity of your documents, such as your driving licence.
During the verification process, Veriff checks your licence details and uses biometric technology to confirm that the person submitting the document matches the ID provided. This helps us ensure that all customer information is genuine and secure.
When will I be asked to complete a Veriff check?
If you’re buying a policy with an EU driving licence, you’ll be asked to complete a Veriff check as part of your purchase journey.
Online customers: You’ll be redirected to Veriff to complete your verification before proceeding with your purchase.
Offline customers: You’ll need to complete the verification before we can issue your policy.
The process typically takes only a few seconds. If it takes longer than expected, you’ll receive an email letting you know once it’s complete so you can continue your journey.
What happens if my Veriff check is declined?
If your Veriff verification is declined, it means we weren’t able to confirm your identity or validate your driving licence using the documents provided.
In this case, Zego won’t be able to offer insurance coverage until the verification is successful.
You can review your details, make sure the images are clear and accurate, and try again later. However, we won’t be able to proceed with creating your policy until Veriff confirms your identity.
How long does the Veriff check take, and what should I expect?
The Veriff verification process usually takes around 6 seconds once you’ve submitted your details.
You’ll be guided through a quick process to:
Take a live photo of yourself (a selfie).
Upload a clear image of your driving licence.
If everything is in order, you’ll see a confirmation message and can continue to complete your payment and purchase your policy.
If the check takes longer, Veriff will send you an email notification once the verification is finished so you can return and finalise your purchase.
